A Fairytale Wedding Story

I was beyond pumped when these two booked me for their Fairyland wedding in September. Being a fan of Disney/Pixar and childish fun, I knew we would have a blast taking portraits as we wandered through life size fairytales. Peggy and Bill celebrated their wedding day at the wonderful Oakland landmark, Children’s Fairyland. Peggy grew up nearby and always had fond memories of visiting the park when she was a child. It was a magical day.

We started the day with a first look and portraits in the Bonsai Garden at Lake Merritt. What a beautiful spot to take a few portraits away from the crowds in the rest of the park.

After, we took our time exploring the attractions within Fairyland and creating all kinds of serious and silly portraits with the characters.

The fairytale theme perfectly carried over through all of their details, with nods to Alice in Wonderland, keys to unlock the story though the park, and spell books on the tables with moss and fairy lights. I would say everyone in attendance felt transported to a more magical time.

Then, after the ceremony, toasts, a marvelous meal, and all of the romantic moments, there was the dance party. This dance floor was packed until the very end and people were not shy about busting a move, even grandma. I had a hard time not throwing aside my camera to join in! Everything about this day was perfect, I absolutely adored working with Peggy, Bill and all of their family and friends. It was a wedding I will not soon forget.
