An quiet afternoon at home
After having the privilege to witness and document Rex’s birth, I returned to document the entire family at home. Our session was planned for mid December and it was important to Tara that I capture the magic of their Christmas decorations around the house. Since Christmas is my all time favorite holiday, I was excited to include a bit of how they celebrate. Â
Her two girls were so excited to have me there and even made a beautiful collage of stickers to welcome me. I had so much fun chatting with them as I worked and watching they’re creativity as they drew pictures on the giant piece of paper Tara had covered the table with.
Tears often happen between siblings and these end up being some of my favorite photos. I love the passion that kids unleash over disputes that seem trivial to us adults. To them, it’s their whole world right in that moment. When your sibling gets more stickers than you or steals the bike you were just riding, life is completely unfair and the world must know! Or at least mom.
These photos give me all the feels whenever I look through them, just so much love in this family! At the end of the session I even got to set my cameras down and fit in a good baby snuggle session with little Rex. It was a perfect winter afternoon for this Napa Family.
