Nishika and Jay were married just before New Years at the Old Monterey Inn, surrounded by their closest friends. They wanted a small, private wedding before celebrating in a traditional Indian ceremony back east with all of their family. The inn provided the perfect setting for just such an occasion. I had so much fun photographing Nishika getting ready in the small cottage on property. There are so many interesting nooks with vines, trellises, and other rustic elements. Indoors there were antique pieces and plenty of light to make some really fun images.
Their ceremony was short but very sweet and everyone had some fun with a few glasses of champagne and cake before we headed to downtown to take a few photos of just the newlyweds. Monterey has become one of my favorite cities to take photos in, I love the charm and quiet atmosphere of this coastal town and I always jump at the opportunity to work there.
