Chabot Space Center Wedding | Oakland, CA

A Gathering of Friends

When I asked Jay and Rick to describe their Chabot Space Center wedding style they responded: Modern, Edgy, and Glam. I would say, mission accomplished!

What a stunning vision Jay and Rick created for their wedding with the help of Nicol of Little Blue Box Weddings. It was most important for them to create an event that was beautiful but mostly centered around enjoying their friends and family.

Jay made sure to include many non traditional elements that made their day quite unique. Two of my favorite elements were her flower ring instead of a bouquet and a badass crown made by her friend. The flowers by Hunt Littlefield were beyond stunning. I had so much fun photographing all the arrangements they created for the ceremony and reception.

The ceremony was also very customized and included a Quaker tradition of sitting in silence and waiting to be moved to speak. So many friends and family members stood to share a memory or kind word about the couple. There was even a song performed by Jay’s godmother and friend. It was a really touching way to include their community in the ceremony.

Heart of Gold DJs rocked the dance floor after dinner wrapped up. These girls are not only a pleasure to work with but also know how to keep the dance floor full of energy.

The entire celebration was filled with beauty, laughter, and lots of good food. Thanks Jay and Rick for choosing me to document this most special of days for you.
