It’s always a wonderful feeling when your clients turn out to be people who you want to be friends with. Kimberly is such a warm and friendly person, even from the first email I was excited to work with her and her new husband, Jeremy. As she described their honeymoon plans and shared her pinterest inspiration board, my brain started buzzing with ideas for amazing spots to take them.
However, Napa is a tough place to gain photo access at wineries. Despite my grand plans, we were having trouble finding a location. Our original spot had just stopped allowing photo sessions at their winery and my list of possibilities dwindled quick as I called around.
The morning of our scheduled sunset session, Kimberly calls me with some news. Quintessa finally confirmed their tasting appointment, but it was right at the time of our session. Since it was so last minute, and Jeremy happens to work in the industry, Quintessa was kind enough to allow us to have our session on the back hill overlooking the vineyards. It was perfect timing as we reached the top of the hill and saw the vines covered in the warm glow of the setting sun.
Since we only used half of our session time at Quintessa, I proposed that was take some photos at the Maison Fleurie Inn where they were staying in Yountville. This beautiful little inn is tucked away off the main road through Yountville and full of rustic charm. There are a variety of quiet corners to hide away in if you seek a retreat from the world and even the social spaces provide a cozy feel. It’s a perfect spot for a honeymoon getaway! This setup made it an ideal location for photos as well and we had fun exploring the grounds for portrait backdrops.
Kimberly and Jeremy balance each other so perfectly, they made my job easy. It was a joy to share in their Napa adventures!
